POST-SURGICAL RECOVERY

I recently
had surgery.

Recovery after surgery can bring swelling, bruising, tightness, tenderness, and changes in how your body moves and feels.

Thoughtful post-surgical care can help support the healing process while respecting your procedure, your surgeon's guidance, and your body's timeline.

RECOVERY LOOKS DIFFERENT FOR EVERY BODY

Healing takes time. Support should meet you where you are.

After surgery, your needs can change from week to week. Early care may focus on swelling, comfort, and gentle lymphatic support. As healing progresses, care may shift toward tissue mobility, restricted movement, lingering tension, and helping you feel more comfortable in your body again.

YOU MAY BE HERE BECAUSE...

SWELLING & FLUID RETENTION

Your body feels swollen, heavy, or congested following surgery.

BRUISING & TENDERNESS

Healing tissues remain sensitive and uncomfortable.

TIGHTNESS & RESTRICTED MOVEMENT

Your body doesn't yet move or feel the way it did before surgery.

CHANGING
TISSUE

As healing progresses, areas may feel firm, restricted, or different beneath the skin.

RECOVERY FEELS OVERWHELMING

You're unsure what is normal or what kind of support is appropriate at this stage.

RETURNING TO NORMAL ACTIVITY

You're gradually ready to regain comfort, movement, and confidence.

HOW BBH CAN HELP

Care that adapts

as you heal.

Post-surgical care at Balanced Body Holistics is individualized to your procedure, stage of healing, symptoms, and goals. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol, each session is adjusted according to how your body is presenting that day.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Gentle, specialized techniques designed to support lymphatic movement and help address post-surgical swelling and fluid accumulation.

ACUPUNCTURE

May be incorporated to support pain management, swelling, relaxation, and other concerns that can accompany the recovery process.

CLINICAL BODYWORK

As healing progresses and when appropriate, targeted hands-on techniques may be used to address

muscular tension, mobility and tissue restriction.

Your care may include one modality or a thoughtful combination depending on your needs.

THE GOAL

Support healing without rushing biology.

Your body already knows how to heal. The goal of post-surgical care isn't to force that process, but to provide appropriate support along the way - helping you navigate swelling, discomfort, mobility changes, and the transition back toward feeling like yourself.

Reduce
discomfort.
Support healthy fluid movement.
Restore comfortable movement.
Move forward with confidence.

YOUR SAFETY COMES FIRST

Recovery is
collaborative.

Post-surgical care is intended to complement, not replace the care provided by your surgeon and medical team. Treatment timing and techniques are adapted to your procedure and stage of healing, and medical clearance may be requested when appropriate.

If something falls outside the scope of care at Balanced Body Holistics, you'll be referred back to your surgeon or another qualified healthcare provider.
